[00:00:00] Alicia Lyttle: To create a voice clone in Descript, first you have to upload your voice under AI Speakers. To do that, in our Descript’s homepage, go to AI Speakers.
[00:00:28] Now click create a new voice and then name your voice.
[00:00:34] Okay, great. So now you will see this. This is an authorization that your voice will be cloned by Descript’s AI voice cloning. Remember that whatever voice you upload, that’s what they will clone. So you really have to make sure that you sound lively and powerful. All right, once we are done doing the voice cloning, your uploaded voice will now go under voice training.
[00:00:57] We now have to wait for at least 24 hours [00:01:00] for your voice to finish its training.
[00:01:05] Okay, so now that it’s done, we now have a voice that’s trained. We can now use it to create a podcast using our voice or correct a mispronounced word in a video recording. Here’s a reel that we’ve made using my Descript AI voice clone. Hi guys. So Lisa, would you believe me if I say that in this entire video, I never spoke even once.
[00:01:22] This is entirely Descript AI Voices feature. Let’s take a look at how it’s done. First, you need to upload your voice in Descript. To do that, go to voices, click create new voice, and then type the name of your voice, click create, follow the instructions on the right side of the screen. And when you’re done with that, submit training data, wait for your voice to upload.
[00:01:43] When it’s uploaded, go to your project, click the feather icon, and then select write. Type in the script that you want your voice to say,
[00:01:55] when done, highlight it, right click, and then choose overdub. Easy, [00:02:00] right?
